During the peak of his career, Terry refereed for the A-League, NPSL, MISL, NCAA, OHSAA and local leagues, like Lake Erie League and Super League. You can still watch him referee NPSL games, including the Cleveland Crunch and Canton Invaders on YouTube! Terry was very well-respected both locally and nationally. Terry is a member of the Ohio Soccer Hall of Fame. Upon retirement from officiating, Terry stayed actively involved in the game as an assessor, mentor, assignor and SRC Board Member. Jim is being inducted for his contributions to GCSOA as a referee, mentor, and former board member. Jim was a member of GCSOA for 25 years. Jim officiated for local adult and youth leagues and OHSAA. After graduation from Case Western Reserve University School of Meidicine, Jim was a very successful surgeon for more than 50 years. He oversaw several surgery departments for many years at the Cleveland Clinic, one of the nation’s best hospitals. Jim is the father of Lisa, Michael and New York Filmmaker, David, and the grandfather of 8. When not in surgery or on the field, Jim could be found cycling, gardening, watching other sports or catching up on the news. Refereeing allowed Jim to continue to be a participant in the sport he loved most. It also offered him the privilege of associating with the wonderful referees with whom he referees and being actively involved on the field with the fine young men and women playing high school soccer.
